This project entails the invention of a packaging system for an original product line with various components, or a grouping of products that relate to one another in some way. My response to this is a product line named the Moon Rise Seafood Alaskan Fish Gift Set. Moon Rise being a reference to the moon’s effects on the tides and fishing conditions. This gift set is intended as a souvenir for tourists to buy when they visit Alaska. It features sustainably sourced fish and caviar, packaged in resealable and reusable tin cans. The wooden fish skeleton basket was designed to be functional packaging that also served as an eye-catching display piece when the wrapping paper layers are removed. The tin cans’ illustrations are minimalistic so that they mimic the design of the fish skeleton head. The outer packaging features the brand’s blue palette paired with wooden textures, contrasting with the bright, color-coded can labels within.
